2014 breeding season successfully concluded

The 2014 breeding season has successfully concluded. The focus for this season's breeding run was in line with the ASI Industry Reference Group's recommendations: POMS resistance and oyster resilience (resilience is defined as survival and fitness in POMS resistant lines and overall). This breeding season has been very important in being able to achieve our target level of POMS resistance as well as general resilience across the board. For the first time ASI has successfully used 1 year old male broodstock, which will hopefully lead to greatly increased genetic gains. A total of 80 families have been reared through to settlement and have now been distributed to trial sites.
