Tasmania's Pacific Oyster industry has gone through hell and back over the past 14 months. The Pacific Oyster Mortality Syndrome (POMS) wiped out two thirds of the $26 million industry. Scientists are providing some light at the end of this very bleak period, developing a super oyster that will hopefully withstand the next outbreak in Tasmania.
